Apart from being a lifelong artist, Bill is a Council Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.

Bill Toop paints using his pencil drawings and colour notes from location as reference in his studio. His subjects include Morocco, Antigua, Malta, Paris, Venice, Tuscany, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Brittany, The Vendee, Wales, Oxford, The Cotswolds, Devon, Cornwall, London, Dorset and The Lake District. He particularly enjoys painting water in many different locations - rivers, lakes, harbours, the sea, beaches and reflections after the rain. Other favourite themes are dusk, and lights at night. Bill's paintings are in many private and public collections in the UK, USA, Canda, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, France, South Africa, Holland, Belgium and Oman. Bill can always be seen painting in his studio and he delightful adjacent gallery shows a varied range of his original watercolour paintings. Also on show are his limited edition prints and the very popular range of Bill Toop greetings cards.
